Fried!

Last week my computer began to act funny, make weird sounds and shut down spontaneously. Yep, sounds pretty freaky. After tinkering with it a bit I decided that I should hand it over to a techno. geek that could read computer language. It's been in the hands of my friend Eddie ever since. He is working on my fried windows vista program daily, trying to get it up and running. I was kind of thinking I would have it back by now, but no such luck. Anyway, that's kind of been what's up with not being able to post. I have tons of pictures, funny stories and a hoopla of a good birthday to share with you all. I will post pictures of the latest events soon. Just waiting on my computer to get well - LOL

I did want to share this little tidbit that I found on Etsy while searching for some custom computer accessories. I stumbled across this laptop sleeve and it caught my eye. I love anything with birds so this little find was right up my alley! You can take a peek at it here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_15&listing_id=19292161

A silly book

Roxanne and I were invited to story time at the library this past Tuesday. It was a rather unique adventure. The kids all dressed in their pj's and lounged around on sleeping bags and rocking chairs listening to all kinds of fun and interesting story books. After story time the kids meandered through the library looking at books, searching for those that they might want to check out. Roxanne picked up a book for Bryar called Supermarket. It is a great book! Short words and funny pictures...it looks like me at the grocery store with the kids! Any mom who has been to the grocery store with a small child can relate to this book. It's definitely worth checking out. YOU and your kids will enjoy it!

Giggly girls

The girls and I were having lots of fun with bedtime the other night. Tommy grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures of the excitement. Roxanne loves the new flashlight that she got for Christmas. It's become her favorite thing to take to bed. Roxanne started making silly faces while shinning the flashlight on her face, the wall, her toe and everywhere else in the room. She was laughing and I got tickled at her silliness. All of us girls were piled in Roxanne's bed laughing and making funny faces. It was fun just having a silly girl moment!

My bands

I have a new love...image that! It's headbands :) I have fallen in love with making these simple, yet awesome little headbands, thanks to my friends over at YCMT! Ahhhh, these bands are great for infants, toddlers, teens and adults. They are stylish and fun! I made my girls and myself a few. Did I mention that these babies are reversible? Yep, two bands in one. See, I told you they were awesome! I will have them posted in my Etsy store soon!

VIVA love

I purchased an early birthday gift for myself! OK, don't act like you have never done it - LOL
I am totally in love with Viva beads. If you are not familiar with Viva brand products, click here to learn more http://www.vivabeads.com/store/index.php/shop-by-type/wrist-keychains/view-all-products They are not only very stylish, but practical and reasonably priced. I purchased their beaded key chain (shown above). I am always fumbling around with my keys when I am trying to get the girls in and out of their car seats. The Viva key chain is made with elastic so it will stretch. It's kind of like a stretchy bracelet (they sale those too) with a key ring attached. I can just slip it over my wrist and my keys are right with me, attached and out of the way. They are colorful and each bead is unique. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten...endless! Check them out. I am sure you will find something that interest you. They make all kinds of goods. Do you VIVA?

Re-DO!

It's a new year and a great time to rethink, reorganize and renew. My life is screaming Re-DO! Not just rethink, but redo...it all! Did I emphasize the "DO" part? Sometimes, I tend to rethink and revamp but I have a hard time actually doing the things I plan. So, this year, I have vowed to myself to DO all of those things that I have made list for, planned for and saved for.

One of my goals is to find my creative niche and hit it hard. I love all things creative, so settling down with one will not be an easy thing. However, if I want to expand and make my business grow, it's a must. Second, I want to organize family time. Not just my family inside of my four walls, but outside family. I want to have family over more. Not just for birthdays and Christmas. More like, just because! Last but not least, I want to organize my time. No, not the time I have in a day, but my "me" time. I do not take time for myself. Being a stay at home mom means that mommy duty never ends. I need to find my time. Time that I can do what I want to unwind or to prepare for the day. Even if it's a journal entry, making a cup of hot tea, taking a bath (alone, without bubbles and squirt guns-LOL) by candle light, reading my favorite magazine, etc. I need to find time to be alone and be at ease.

I hope you are enjoying the new year and it's opportunity to refresh your life and yourself. You don't have to make long overdone list of things to accomplish. Sometimes, just telling that special someone that you love them is all that it takes! Goals are not things that you have to set high with unreachable task. But they should be things that you can accomplish with little effort and minimal stress. Something that gives you a sense of accomplishment..that warm and fuzzy all to good feeling. Kind of like your first crush!

Happy new year!

Coming soon!

We have had some yuck-O weather here the past couple of days. On and off rain, heavy wind gust and a few threats of some bad ice storms headed our way in the next week or so. I have taken advantage of the gloomy weather and decided to play while cooped up indoors. Play on the sewing machine that is! I made both of the girls a little something to wear and I am doing my best to make a collection of headbands.

I love natural light for pictures. So, with the wonderful winter weather (NOT!), I haven't been able to get any good photo opps. outdoors. I will try my best to get a few pics posted of my finished products by the end of the week. Hmmmm...maybe that new camera flash will come in handy? Till then, here is a little sample of what's to come!

Handing out the dough

I was searching (yes again) on Etsy and found the cutest little cards. Any mom who has kids in school will love these little time saving gems. These adorable cards can be personalized with other memo/notes to keep you organized while adding a touch of fun to the list of mommy to do's! These clever little cards are personalized with your child in mind. What a steal of a deal...a pack of 25 for $10! Now, that's awesome. That would get you through the whole school year.

You can check out the listing herehttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_11&listing_id=19404043 Enjoy!

The battle of the passy

Who said being a mother was easy? Not me! Let me just tell ya, when you know the baby you've got will probably be the last one (planned anyway) it's hard to let them grow up. I myself love bottles and diaper. Yes, I am a weirdo. But, I do love the whole diaper bag, baby stuff mumbo jumbo. Our little Bryar is now 16 months old and we have decided it is time to let go of the passy. I do not mind the passy, better yet, I think it's cute! However, Bryar is trying her best to talk and I feel like the passy is a bit of a hindrance to her. So, I have started limiting the use of the passy. We have been limiting the use of the passy to sleep time while at home. We do still take the passy along with us if we leave the house (duh..of course, right?). It is just killing me to make her get rid of the passy. She loves that little nub! Anyway, we hope to have her broke from the passy by 18 months. Wish us (scratch that - ME) luck!
Have no fear, mommy is not on a strict schedule - LOL!

It's a mystery

Everyone likes a good mystery right? Well, here in the world of crafting I sometimes purchase crafting supplies, fabric, etc...without having a real purpose in mind. They may just strike me as fun, interesting or just simply a good deal. So, here is a sample of some mystery fabrics that I will be bringing to life over the next couple of days. I have an idea of what I would like to create, but nothing is set in stone. Any suggestions???
