Shop hop

Love to shop, love fabric, love sewing, crafting or just being among ladies of like interest? Join me in the shop hop! You can read about it here. This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to see what each shop has to offer! I am sure you wont want to miss Karen Taylor's shop, A Scarlet Thread. She has some of the most beautiful boutique fabrics...about 6,000 + bolts to be exact. I love her shop, it's like a candy store for sew-a-holic!

Wowsers....me?

That was my exact thought when I received an email today from my fiend Kris over at SWAK.com. For those of you who have never heard of SWAK.com, it's a jaw dropping, amazing, creative, loaded with fun site full of embroidery designs. A couple of weeks ago I posted a little apron dress that I made and embroidered a little red apple design on the front. This is a design that I found over at SWAK. You'll never guess...it was FREE! Yep, cute and FREE..I was shocked! The design was a perfect fit for what I needed to give the apron dress a finished look. Anyway, to my surprise...I was featured! SWAK.com has an e-newsletter that generates every so often and I was featured for my creation using the apple embroidery design. I thought that was so "sweet"! - LOL Thanks Kris for all that you do over at SWAK.com and for featuring my creation that looks so great...thanks to SWAK!

where ya at?

To answer all of the email questions of ..."Where are you?", we took a spur of the moment family vacation this past week. Roxanne was out of school and we decided that all of us could use a little time away. We had a wonderful time just being free to do what we wanted, when we wanted, eat how we wanted...where we wanted...etc. It was just a truly fun time with the family. I hope you all have been well. Sorry I ducked out without giving you guys the scoop, but it was such a last minute trip that we were here one day and gone the next. Anyway, I'll be posting some exciting news soon...stick around!

A little something for yourself

With spring on the way, I can't help but to find myself being attracted to cute little hand bags. Out with the old drab brown and black totes and step into spring with this soft yellow print bag. I love the unique design and it's functionality! You can find it here.

Did I mention that I like little red apples too!

My new motto is "Red...is delicious"! Doesn't this yummy fabric make you want to drool? I am totally in love with it! The first time I laid eyes on this print I knew I had to have it...a lot of it! It took weeks for this line to become available to retailers. As soon as it was on the shelf, I headed straight for the cutting table....true love! The fabric is part of Sandi Henderson's newest fabric line, Farmer's Market. The little apron dress above is part of her sewing pattern collection, the Claire pattern. I made this little set for my youngest daughter, Bryar. Hmmmm...I'm thinking little red apples (green ones too) will be popular at the Roe house this summer!

Crash and burn

OK, so this is not funny...at all! You know my new laptop that I just purchased 7 days ago. Well, it's fried! Yep, serious! It was in the shop on the 7th day. "A VIRUS...again!", I said, like I hadn't heard that line before! So, needless to say I lost my computer again! Thank goodness there was no charge to me and my computer was able to be cleaned. We now have some super geeky, techo, anti-EVERYTHING program running on this doozie of a computer. Shew, I burnt it up in 7 days. Is that like a world record or something. You should have seen the geek squads face..."you've only had this for seven days?" It would have made you laugh. Just think of it, Miss. crafty over here has the geeksters puzzled...I was laughing(on the inside) and praying to the good Lord I serve that he would bail me out of this nightmare once more. Thank you Jesus...you're one awesome computer tech!

XOXO...

Today is Roxanne's Valentine's exchange. The teachers asked that each parent help their child create a box for their Valentine's. With a little thought and some supplies I had on hand, here's what we came up with.
My talented friend Kris and her daughter also created a Valentine's box for her daughters Valentine's exchange. Check is out here! It's a totally cute and fun Valentine's box that you can carry like a purse. Yep, she's one crafty mama!

I wish you all a wonderful and happy Valentine's day!

Big belly's are cute...

when you're prego! For all of you expecting moms, here's a cute little t-shirt just for you. Jellybean apparel has some stylish mommy t's that your gonna love. My two favorites are the hand & heart love t-shirt and the due date stork t-shirt. Aren't they just adorable!

Fairy tale ball

Princess Roxanne along with her princess friends gathered with prince charming, Peter Pan, Hook, Ms. Pots and other fantasy friends at her fairy tale ball. Roxanne had a wonderful time enjoying some delicious refreshments and showing off some pretty cool dance moves at the ball. The table was set with Valentine crafts the kids had been working on along with boxed roses and illuminating candles. The fairy tale guest were served like royalty.
There was a silver punch fountain, chocolate fondue with a variety of fruits for dipping, and a beautiful banquet cake! It was such a fun time. Mimi joined us at the ball and had a blast doing the chicken dance with Roxanne...those two are soooo silly!
Enjoy the show :)

I'm back

Well, guess what? My computer has been officially pronounced dead! Yep, it totally stinks. The bright side is, all of my data was able to be saved...shew! And, due to my constant ventures into Tommy's office to use his computer, he got mad at me (not really)! He is weird about his office, it's like his domain. Everyone in the house is ban from entering, it's like a secret place or something. He's afraid we will mess something up. Imagine that, two kids and a me...what could go wrong, right? Anyway, he decided that the only way to keep me out was to get me a new computer. So, I'm back...at "my" desk.

I know you all are ready to here about what has been going on the last couple of weeks here at the Roe house. It goes something like this...

Birthday #1

I celebrated my 31st birthday last month. We will leave it at that. Some events that day were too good to forget and others too crushing to want to remember.
*My mom and Roxanne made me this surprise birthday cake...delicious!*

Funky hair

The queen of ponytails decided that she wanted me to fix her hair with "lots of ponies". So, here is a little snapshot of what I came up with. It turned out pretty cute...for a four year old. It's not one that anyone over the age of 10 should attempt - LOL!

Birthday #2

Roxanne loves to go to Yuki, a Japanese restaurant here in town. She insisted that we go there for her birthday. But, ladies only..."no boys allowed" were the order from the birthday girl. So, my mom, Roxanne, Bryar and myself enjoyed a delicious and fun night with Roxanne at Yuki. My mom made a special birthday (surprise) cake for Roxanne. It was a Barbie birthday cake. She did a fabulous job and Roxanne was thrilled! Roxanne wanted a light haired Barbie...funny story!

Birthday #2 (continued)

We arrived back home from Yuki and the birthday girl quickly morphed into Barbie princess Roxanne. We invited our family to join us for cake and ice cream. Roxanne enjoyed spending time with her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. She is a social butterfly...she lives for friends & family! Happy birthday Roxanne, mommy loves you!

It's was a busy January for us. Now, onto February. Where does the time go?

**Many of you have asked about new picture and family events. My computer is still in the shop. Yep, it's been about 3 weeks now...ggrrrrr! Tommy has been so kind to allow me in his office to use his and keep things up to date. The IT guy is trying to rebuild my computer. It was hit with something that destroyed it's memory. We have nicknamed it "The Beast"! The IT guy said he's never seen anything like it...my luck, right? I promise, pictures and events will be posted ASAP upon return of The Beast - LOL!**

We have 9 members at this time and would love to see others join. Our first meeting will be held on Tues. February 24th @ 6:00 p.m. Please feel free to browse the site. Gifts of love

As I was strolling through the Valentines decor and candy goods at our local Target, I was struck by Cupid. Yep, he struck me right in the heart! Something came over me that was a total inspiration of love. Not the hot steamy kind of love that you read in some of those Valentines cards...shew some of them need a WARNING sign - LOL! It was just a true love, a love for life and what it has to offer. So, call me mushy I guess, but it was awesome. Cupid, thanks for reminding me of what love is and how thankful I am to have the family that I have. To my dear Tommy, thank you for loving me and our precious girls, we have a beautiful family. I love you...more than words!
