perfectly perfect

So, where have I been...the picture is a good hint - LOL!! More to come on my fabulous trip to the beach with my girls and my wonderful cousin, Kimberly. She's a doll and full of laughs. I'll post more pictures next week and give a little more detail about our trip.

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. I will be enjoying my new mini driveway/parking pad that my husband surprised me with while I was gone. The girls and I are thrilled to have somewhere to play with chalk, ride bikes, play basketball and drip Popsicle juice, such fun times! Thanks Tommy, you'r so good to us!

Chung if ya' caint Chang!

How'd you like that lingo up there in the title of my post? Korny I know :) But, I gotta tell ya, if you like spring rolls...read on! So, no doubt about it, P.F.Changs is the best of the best, right? Well, if you can't have the best, here's a close runner up, Chung's. I have tried several different types of store bought spring rolls. These, by far, are very close to restaurant style spring rolls. So, if you're in a pinch and P.F.Changs isn't convenient at the moment, check your local grocery store for these tasty spring rolls, YUM!

lights, camera, action

I had to laugh when I stumbled upon this cute moment. I walked into the girls room to find my cute little love bug laying on a pile of blankets in the floor. It was the middle of the day on a bright and beautiful spring afternoon, and here she is with a head lamp stretched over her head to provide reading light. I mean, the room could not have been any brighter from the sun light coming through the blinds. It was hilarious! However, she was just as content as could be reading her new book. Love ya little stinker!

wild thing

If you are anything like myself and my girls, animals hold a soft spot in your heart. While on spring break last week, the girls were itching to have some outdoor fun. So, we packed our lunch and headed to a nearby animal rehabilitation center to have some fun. Noah's Ark is a great place to visit. It's a large enough facility that you can explore and see the animals without a large crowd of people, but it's small enough that little ones aren't overwhelmed with large/long amount of walking.

Here are a few pictures that I took of some of the animals and my two little "wild things" - LOL Most of the animals are in cages/fenced areas that are inside of a larger fenced area. So, it makes it a little difficult to get a good picture of the animals, but still fun none the less.

not happy

Sorry for not posting in a few days but things have been out of the norm around here. You see, this nasty little germ decided to makes its way into my sweet little Bryar's tiny body sometime late last week. Mama bear is not a happy camper to say the least. Matter of fact, Mama bear is so unhappy that if someone crossed me, I think I would chew them up and spit them out all in the same breath. Seriously! Between frustration, worry and lack of sleep over this germ I am not one to be messed with.

Bryar started with a fever early Saturday a.m. (2:00 or so). The fever has not broke and it holds strong at 102-104. The doctor has diagnosed her with the flu and has given her a prescription for Tamiflu. She's just not getting better or maybe she's not getting worse. I don't know, I'm no pro. about the flu virus. Maybe the medicine is helping, maybe not. All I know is that I have one sick little girl and I mean sick.

So, it's off to the doctor we go. Mama is at the end of her rope. Pray that I don't lose my cool with the MD today! LOL

enjoying it all

The girls are on spring break this week and we've got all sorts of fun things planned. Yesterday we made a trip to Target to pick up gardening supplies for the kids. Old Man Winter had made all of their outside rakes, shovels, and watering cans brittle and broken from the cold, wet winter weather. So, needless to say yesterday was all about the outdoors. Last week I picked up a few plants from the garden center to liven up the outdoors a bit. So, yesterday we enjoyed new plants, new planters, yard clean up, games, Popsicles and an outdoor picnic in between it all.

We also picked up a few new books. Roxanne is starting to want to read and learn word sounds. I thought that this week would be the perfect time to get a little one on one with her in that area. Nothing beats hanging out on my big swinging couch outside, next to the pond with two little girls curled up in my lap...heaven!

bunny trails

Well, the Easter bunny made his visit known by spilling loads of Easter eggs in the girls room, on top of their dressers and in their beds while they were fast asleep. Needless to say, we heard loud giggles and jumping feet as they woke from their sweet dreams Sunday morning.

Risen? Yes, the wonderful and all powerful God is alive and we celebrated the victory at church Sunday morning with a wonderful congregation of friends and family. Roxanne sang her solo like a song bird on a window seal, on a fresh spring morning. All of the kids including my handsome nephew Levi (on his solo as well) did a marvelous job lifting up the name of Jesus with their sweet voices. All of the children gathered outdoors after church for a basket full of fun...an Easter egg hunt! Laughter from proud kiddos filled the air as they showed off their baskets filled with colorful eggs.

I hope that each one of you had a memorable Easter, filled with love and laughter and the reminder that Jesus lives and His love for us is unconditional. Happy spring to you! Have a wonderful week :)

berry fresh

There is just something about fresh strawberries - YUM!!! The bright bold color, the sweet juicy goodness, simply delicious. Everyone over at my house could eat their weight in strawberries. So, when I ran across a recipe for these yummy strawberry shortcakes cookies, with fresh strawberries, I knew I couldn't go wrong. These little darlings did not disappoint! They had a great fresh taste and a fabulous smell. The only problem was...they didn't last very long - LOL
