Thanks just isn't enough

Last week I pulled out all the stops and decorated the garden center, proudly displaying red, white and blue in honor of Memorial Day. I love this stone piece that we have in the garden center. I can't help but to be emotional every time I see it. There was just something special about the feeling I got when the ribbons & bows, tinsel, and store displays were being put together. It was a feeling of pride, yet sorrow. A feeling of boldness yet still somewhat afraid and fearful. A mixture of emotions both good and bad as I thought about the reason for the Memorial holiday.

So, in my eyes (and heart) a thanks just isn't good enough. As I watch one of our employees, a young man in his twenties, who once fought on the battle fields, I can't help to think of how he feels when he sees "Old Glory" wave in vibrant colors across the garden center. My hope is that it makes him feel proud, just the way he makes me feel...proud to be an American!
